The Herzberg Design Co is the type foundry and design studio of Matthijs Herzberg. Born and raised in the Netherlands, he currently lives in a shotgun house in New Orleans with his wife, daughter, two dogs, and at any given point, 7 to 12 mosquitos.
From there, he draws shapes; predominantly letters. These letters sometimes take the form of fonts, sometimes of logos, sometimes otherwise. No matter the purpose, he always tries to find a balance of historically informed, unconventional, and beautiful—as such, combining the best of New Orleans and The Netherlands.
